Try the traditional shepherd’s dishes made from ingredients "grown" in the plains, or their modern versions adapted to today’s demands!

The building, which preserves the atmosphere of the old inns, along with the terrace and the porch, is made even more enjoyable by the live, atmospheric Gypsy music.

When arriving in Hortobágy, one cannot miss the famous Hortobágy Inn, built at the foot of the Nine-Hole Bridge, where both fans of the flavors of the plains and those interested in cultural and historical values will find something to their liking, as the inn is both a restaurant and a museum.

The Hortobágy Inn was built in 1699 by the city of Debrecen along the so-called Salt Road, next to the customs and post station at the Hortobágy River. It is the most famous and largest inn in the Great Plain and the oldest building in Hortobágy, which, just like in the past, continues to serve the needs of travelers and tourists today.
