Exhibition on The Nature of Hortobágy

At the Hortobágy National Park Visitor Center, the newly opened exhibition "The Nature of Hortobágy" introduces visitors to the development of the Hortobágy cultural landscape, as well as its plant and animal life. Here, we can explore the results of more than 40,000 years of interaction between humans and the landscape. The exhibition highlights the colorful, diverse nature of the habitats, their "mosaic" quality, the formation of the saline steppe, its unique characteristics, and the important work of the park's conservation guardians, shepherds, and environmental educators. It also showcases the fantastically rich birdlife of Hortobágy, the night sky above our heads, and, last but not least, the scents and sounds of the steppe.

Special opening days: Closed on Mondays, but open on all long weekends and public holidays (except for November 1, 2024, and the period between December 23, 2024, and January 5, 2025, when the facility will be closed) with weekend hours.
January, February, March: Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
April, May: Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weekends from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
June, July, August: Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
September, October: Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weekends from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
November, December: Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
